(ECNS) -- Hong Kong chief executive John Lee Ka-chiu will lead a delegation to Beijing to attend military parade commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The event will take place on Sept. 3 and include a grand commemorative ceremony and military parade in the morning, followed by a gala in the evening.
The Hong Kong delegation, consisting of around 360 members, includes principal officials of the government, patriotic figures and veterans who participated in the war, and their families, as well as representatives from various sectors such as business circles, education, technology, media, religion, arts, sports, youth organizations, students, and the general public.
Lee is scheduled to depart for Beijing on Tuesday and return to Hong Kong on Thursday.
